  • 1 cup dried red beans

Method

  1. In a bowl, soak your red beans the night before making them so that they are easily cooked. In another bowl, soak your rice for about at least half an hour before cooking them.
  2. Rinse your pre-soaked beans and add them into a pot with six glasses of water. Add chopped onion, bay leaves, dried parsley, dried thyme, paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper on top. Bring this mixture to a boil and then bring it on low heat. Let it simmer for about 2 to 2.5 hours.
  3. Cook your rice in the rice cooker. After the beans are done, take a pan to add 2 tablespoons of oil and add the minced garlic and ginger. Fry it for about a minute, and then add the boiling oil ginger-garlic mixture to the beans. Stir the beans and serve them with white rice. Enjoy!
